906-NF "UNIVERSAL" Programmable Take-up Machine:
New Design for winding heavy-duty (2-3 inch wide) wide tape. Eliminates fan angle of yarn going to package that could produce a chamber effecto material, (bending material) at package reversals. Designed for winding multi-filament material in a proprietary precision cross wind pattern to meet customer's specifications. Programmable winding parameters include: spool-parallel (side by side/overlap), index-adjustable layers woulnd side byside with each layer continuing from previous layer, precision cross wind patterns for producing self-supporting packages, taper-biconical-single or dual sided, pancake and special shapes, and special program allows ability to change wind patterns based on number of traverse cycles revert from cross wind to pool wind and to change yarn angle on the fly, as well as determines wind ration based on yarn helix angle and vice versa for operator impute.
Heavy-duty high speed belt traverse mechanism allows for long traverse lengths. This model allows for 28 inch long packages. Adjustable package pressure either constant or taper. Adjustable pneumatic tension control. Solid state drive with dancer control transducer matches incoming yarn speed while maintaining exact yarn tension. Unique system integrates four machines into a user friendly system that allows operator to unwind either pancake or traverse wound packages under adjustable tension control feed material through a splicking table and unto a take-up machine that will produce cross wind packages at controlled tension and package pressure.
907 Unwind: Allows either pancake or traverse wound packages to be mounted onto a pneumatic actuated chuck. Chuck configured for 3.00 in ID tube x up to 12.00 long. (other sizes available) Packages diameters up to 36.00 inches.
908-PR Feed roll/Pinch roll machine: Feed roll = 1/2 meter dia. and is coupled to a 1/2 HP DC motor and regenerative drive with adjustable speed control pot. Pinch roll pheumatically applies pressure against feed roll to prevent tape slippage.
Operator control panel: Power on/off switch w/light. Start/stop switch. Red Lion counter displays both speed and total material lenth as it is being wound. E-Stop. Regulator and gauge for adjusting pinch roll pressure. Valves for open/close pinch roll. Balve for open close of package holder: roll casters, (2) fixed and (2) swivel with adjustable levelers with rubber pads.
Splicing Table: (2) Individual operated pneumatic clamping stations to hold both tape ends to be spliced. Clamp has rubber pads and open 100 degrees for clearance. Provides 50+ pounds of clamping force. Tape dispenser (2.00 in wide) and guide roll. Guide table with Adj. square for aligning material & trimming either straight or angled slot for cutting tape ends to match. Magnet for holding up to 6 razor blades.

907/908 Programmable Unwind/Rewind Machine (Machine was configured as a table-top design)
1/2 HP regenerative drive and DC Motor coupled with timing pulleys and belts to each unwind/rewind spindle. Programmablility for controlling speed of unwind spindle and torque/tension control of rewind spindle is through a main PLC and an operator interface panel by Automaiton Direct.
Touch screen interface (OIT) has inputs for: unwind speed with adjustable acceleration and deceleration ramps, rewind tension control at start and finish diameters, displays both actual speed and yardage of package being wound, has ability to stop package at desired yardage amount, has material presence detector and linear transducer combined with air cylinder detects package diameter to adjust tension, while applying controlled pressure as package builds.
Encoder mounted to guide roller provides feedback signal to maintain constant line speed. Adjustable collars on guide roller serve as edge guides to maintain consistent placement of material onto rewind package. Unit builds a square firm package. Pneumatic opening and closing of package holder for quick doffing operation. When unwind drop off valve is activated chuck collapses to release package while pressure roll slides away from package to provide room for removal. Pressure roll assembly is mounted on linear guide rails for smooth operation. Control panel equipped with: lighted power switch, drop off and package return valves, air regulator and gauge for package pressure control, either constant or taper, emergency stop switch and adjustable foot levelers. |

| 906-SBT Precision Programmable Take-up Machine: Special custom designed machine to wind filter type packages
High-spped belt traverse assembly mounts to face plate by dual havy-duty linear rail system. Adjustable taper package pressure gently applies pressure against winding package by means of zero friction air cylinder. Traverse Drive mechanism incorporates a high-spped belt traverse design that is coupled to a programmable Servo drive/motor coupled directly to belt traverse. Quick-change package holder is incorporated for fast interchange if necessary. Spindle dirive motor 1/2 hp is controlled by an adjustable-speed regenerative drive that is programmed to maintain a predetermined constant line speed. Adju. pot allows speed adjustment while winding.
Programmablility includes: Main PLC and Operator Interface panel (OIT) by Automaiton Direct. The operator will enter line speed, drive aceleration and drive deceleration in the OIT. The PLC will then output the line speed and acceleration parameters via analog outputs to the take-up spindle drive. The take-up spindle drive will control the line speed based upon a push button/function key start input. A line speed trim potentiometer will be wired to the PLC and will be used to trim line speed by a +/- percentage during winding. During winding the PLC will calculate the spindle package diameter based upon a line speed encoder input. The PLC will then reduce spindle speed accordingly to maintain a constant line speed. Drive faults will be wired as inputs to the PLC and be displayed as fault messages on the OIT. |
